10 Office Fashion Do’s

  1. Power suit: This classic look will give you that extra boost you may need. Nothing can be more professional.
  2. Capri pants: There is nothing wrong with showing a little bit of leg here and there, yet still look formal and elegant in every way.
  3. The blazer: Every woman’s closet should have that classic blazer. This you can use to transform easily from day to that night look.
  4. Shirt or a blouse: When you have no idea what to wear for your presentation please keep it safe wear that blouse or shirt, instead of a t-shirt or a vest.
  5. Stripes: Stripes will never go out of fashion but you need to remember that when you are wearing stripes, vertical stripes can make you appear slimmer, while horizontal stripes may make you appear wider.
  6. Pencil skirt/dress: Nice fitting pencil skirt or a dress decent size, make sure your slit either at the back, front or on the side is not too high up.
  7. Colour: Do not shy away from colour because you want to be professional, add a pop of colour to your look and slay.
  8. Accessorise: Remember to wear accessories, this also brings that touch of feminity to the formal wear.
  9. Skinny fitted pants: There’s a difference between leggings, jeggings and fitted formal pants. Fitted formal pants are a must have.
  10. High Heels: Even when you walk around the office a lot, find a pair that is not too high. We all love heels because of how the accentuate and make our bodies look a slimmer.

  6. Cargo pants and ripped jeans: These are not appropriate for the office.
  7. Spaghetti straps and plunging necklines, keep for a girls night out.
  8. Halter-neck: Even in the hottest summer day you still want to look appropriate for work
  9. Translucent clothing: Any garment that shows your underwear is a big no for business space.
  10. Thin fabrics garments: Depending on the silhouette most thin fabrics will show all the lumps and bumps you may have in the most unflattering way.
  11. Oversize clothing: Please do not forget you are your own brand, how you dress plays a major role in creating a perception of who you are.
  12. Tight and short skimpy clothing: I know when you have worked hard for your body it’s tempting to show it off right. There is a place and time for everything.

  1. Prints: Especially animal prints tend to make you larger than you look. Avoid wearing any kind of print whether on a skirt, pants or dress. Save these for the weekend festivities  
  2. Low waist pants: No one wants to see your underwear whenever you bend over or sitting down. By no means are we saying always wear high waist pants but they should cover you in a dignifies manner
  3. Leggings: This goes without saying that if you don’t take yourself seriously, no one else will. Leggings might be great and comfy for doing groceries and when you are travelling. Avoid the at all cost.
  4. Cargo pants and ripped jeans: These are not appropriate for the office.
  5. Spaghetti straps and plunging necklines: Spaghetti straps and plunging neckline tops and dresses might be a good idea for a girls’ night out or a dinner date. You don’t want the wrong attention.
  6. Halter-neck: Even in the hottest summer day you still want to look appropriate, wearing tops or dresses that shows of too much skin, is not the look you would like to portray in the business environment
